FOUR people were injured following a serious car crash in rural Stirling at the weekend.

The incident happened on the A81 at around 2.10pm on Sunday, February 11, on the Strathblane to Milngavie road at Mugdock.

A Vauxhall Astra travelling north was involved in a head-on collision with a Dacia Duster travelling in the opposite direction.

A 14-year-old boy who was within the rear of the Astra was taken to the Sick Children's Hospital in Glasgow, where he was later discharged.

The 22-year-old male driver of the Duster sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Royal Alexandria Hospital in Paisley. His condition is not thought to be life threatening.

Road policing officers attended and closed the road for around eight hours while they conducted inquiries at the scene.
