MSP Keith Brown paid a visit to the British Heart Foundation shop in Alloa to meet with staff and volunteers.

He learned about the local collection service for anyone wishing to donate goods who might not be able to get into the shop and about the Heartstart Programme which offers free CPR training to young people.

Mr Brown said: “I regularly donate to the British Heart Foundation shop in Alloa and I was pleased to have the opportunity to meet with the staff and volunteers who work so hard keep the shop the friendly, welcoming place it is.

“I was particularly interested to learn more about the Heartstart Programme which offers schools access to free Call Push Rescue training kits and the opportunity to learn CPR.

“The British Heart Foundation are campaigning for CPR skills to be taught in fourth year but at the moment, none of our high schools in Clackmannanshire have accessed this resource and I will do what I can to encourage them to make the most of this life saving opportunity.”
