TOUCHING tributes have been left for a Menstrie man who died after a car careered off road in Blairlogie last week.

Police in Forth Valley confirmed the identity of the 26-year-old driver as Ryan Muir late on Friday afternoon.

He was driving a silver MG ZR at around 9.15pm on the A91 on Wednesday, November 1, when the car left the road at Blairlogie, 50m west of the junction with Manor Loan. The vehicle then collided with the wall of a property and tree before coming to a halt.

Road policing officers and other emergency services attended the scene and Ryan was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital where he later passed away. A 27-year-old man, who was a passenger, sustained minor injuries. 

Flowers have since been placed at the site of the incident, with heartfelt messages and a teddy bear left to honour his memory.

People have also taken to social media to mark his passing, with Mikeala Gentles writing: "A very sad day today for the village with the passing of another young man Ryan Muir. Heartfelt condolences to the Muir & Ramsay families at this very sad time."

Meanwhile, Ryan Millar posted: "RIP Ryan Muir another young life taken far too soon rest easy up there big man".

Inquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding this collision continue and police have urged anyone with information to come forward.

Sergeant David Ross from the Road Policing Unit (RPU) at Stirling said: "Our thoughts and sympathies are with Ryan's family at this time and we are continuing to provide them with all the necessary support and assistance they require.

"We are still eager to hear from any motorists who were on the A91 on Wednesday evening and witnessed exactly what happened.

"If you believe you have any information of use to this investigation then please contact police immediately."
