A KIRKCALDY man will find out his fate later this month after pleading guilty to driving charges at Alloa Sheriff Court last week.

Sean Dempster, of Overton Mains, pleaded guilty to amended charges of driving on Clackmannan Road while disqualified and without insurance for the vehicle.

The depute fiscal told the court that police were doing routine checks at a roundabout there on July 18 last year.

At around 10.30am, their attention was drawn to the van driven by the accused and they spoke with him.

Dempster was then cautioned and charged after the police system found he had no licence and no insurance.

The 31-year-old is already on a community payback order for an assault which took place in Kirkcaldy this year.

Mr Mooney, representing Dempster, said: “My client has got a pretty good job and that particular day he was desperate. He does not need his licence to keep his current job."

Sheriff David Mackie adjourned sentencing to obtain reports and to get a restriction of liberty assessment completed.

Dempster will be sentenced at Alloa Sheriff Court on November 23.
