POLICE in Forth Valley are again appealing for information to help trace a Tillicoultry man - four weeks after he went missing.

The last confirmed sighting of Tony Parsons, 63, was around 11.30pm on Friday, September 29, at the Bridge of Orchy Hotel. He then left the area and headed south towards Tyndrum on the A82.

Tony had travelled to Fort William by train earlier in the day, arriving at the train station around 4.10pm. He set off to cycle back to Tillicoultry along the A82 and passed Glencoe Village shortly after 6pm that day.

Search and rescue officers have since been deployed along with police dogs and mountain rescue teams to try and trace Tony.

Tony is described as 5ft 9ins tall, of stocky build, with short greying hair, a moustache and usually wears glasses. He has a tattoo of an anchor on his right upper arm and a tattoo of an eagle on his left arm.

He was last seen wearing a distinctive red waterproof jacket, a blue long-sleeved cycling top, a high-vis vest, fingerless gloves, beige combat trousers and walking boots.

He was also wearing a silver and grey cycling helmet, carrying a silver and blue rucksack and riding a yellow-framed bike with black handlebars.

Police would like to thank those members of the public and the media who have assisted officers so far in the search for Tony. Officers are still conducting searches of the local and wider areas.

Inspector Jo Jollie of Callander Police Station said: “I would like to thank those members of the public who have assisted so far with our investigations to trace Tony’s whereabouts.

“Unfortunately, it has now been four weeks since Tony was last seen and we remain concerned for his welfare.

“With the assistance of specialist resources we continue to search for Tony and have spoken to a number of motorists and the local communities in Bridge of Orchy and Tyndrum.

“I would again appeal for anyone who may have seen a man matching Tony’s description or who may have seen, found or taken possession of a yellow bike along the route of the A82 on 29 September or in the days after to contact police as soon as possible.”

Those with information are asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0559 of October 2.
