A WOMAN was subjected to an indecent assault in Alloa at the weekend, police have confirmed.

The incident took place in the area of Mar Street in the early hours of Sunday, October 22.

Officers cordoned off a section of the road, collecting evidence for several hours.

A man, aged 32, has since been charged and will appear at Alloa Sheriff Court in the near future.

A Police Scotland spokesman told the Advertiser: "A 32-year-old man has been charged following an indecent assault that took place in the Mar Street area of Alloa at around 3am on Sunday, October 22.

"A report will now be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."

This is the second such incident in the town centre in recent times.

Last month, a male was arrested and charged with rape following an incident just yards away from last weekend's crime scene.

The incident was said to have taken place at a property on Canderliggs Court – also in the early hours on a Sunday.
