BLAIR Drummond Safari Park is offering plenty of family fun during its annual superhero weekend.

Staff are gearing up for the event and this year it also coincides with a celebration of one of the attraction's rarest animals – the lemur.

Visitors to the Stirlingshire spot are being encouraged to turn up in disguise for a jam-packed schedule of fun and activities on Saturday, August 12 and Sunday, August 13.

Wilma Sim, Blair Drummond’s corporate manager, said: "We are very excited about our special events this weekend, which promise to offer fun for the whole family.

"This supercharged weekend will include a ton of action packed events for young superhero and animal enthusiasts.

"We have some great prizes up for grabs at the best dressed superhero competition, which will take place at 2.15pm, and there will be regular appearances from spider man and spider girl with loads of opportunities for fans to meet and pose for photos.

"There will also be the opportunity to learn about our amazing lemurs, with a series of presentations and interactive activities.

"Our superhero visitors will be challenged to see if they can spot the 10 week old baby Red Ruffed lemurs and there will be the chance each day to win a Lemur Experience and get up close and personal with these inquisitive creatures."

Activities are included in the price of standard admission or free to Blair Drummond Safari Park members.
