TICKETS are flying out the door for a big night out in Alloa that will pay tribute to late Conor Brown.

Wee County band Vida, the driving force behind the event, is organising a concert for Conor, who sadly passed away in March this year with the news sending shockwaves around Clackmannanshire.

The evening of Friday, October 20, will see a range of supporting acts alongside the local five-piece, including Oasis tribute band Stop the Clocks and a DJ set from Conor's cousin Alan Wyse.

Clackmannanshire previously paid a fitting tribute to the “Holy Goalie” when devastated friends rallied together to raise funds for his family.

Later, dozens turned out for a football festival and memorial night not only to pay their respects, but to remember his passions in life.

However, Vida, who had Conor in their group of friends, were already booked with frontman Jamie Pollock saying they were gutted they could not attend.

And as he and the group have been wanting to throw a gig at Alloa Town Hall for a long time anyway, it was only right they would dedicate the night to the 22-year-old.

Jamie told the Advertiser: “I've teamed up with Declan, his twin brother, to get this organised – we missed the memorial night at Sauchie Hall, we were supposed to play at that, but we were double booked.”

He also knew Conor through their work at IFDS and paid tribute to his outgoing personality, they would also meet during nights out in Alloa.

Jamie added: “He was always up for a party and it's just sad he is gone. He was definitely a mate of the band.”

The concert at Alloa Town Hall will also see Nick Mercer who used to play in Glenrothes-based band Sergeant, a number of acoustic acts who previously played at the memorial night.

The lead singer added: “I know that Conor and his mates would have liked that because they like some of the Sergeant songs.

“I thought to myself, if it's going to be a night for Conor then what was his favourite band? I knew [he liked] the old Oasis so we've got Stop the Clocks coming.”
