A MYSTERIOUS creature has been sighted scouting around in a Killearn field.
The 'animal' with a rather long neck was snapped by resident Jimmy Wright on Crow Hill examining its surroundings, perhaps on the lookout for a familiar face.
It has provoked quite the reaction on social media, with members of the public speculating over what exactly the species could be.
One person considered that it may be a hybrid of an otter and a tortoise, while another thought the resemblance to a dinosaur was uncanny.
There is also the possibility of it being a long lost land relative of the Loch Ness Monster.
Whatever it is, it's certainly causing a stir and Facebook users have begun suggesting names such as "Stumpy McTreestump".
Nessie was unavailable for comment.
