CHILDREN are having a great time at Active Stirling's summer programme.

Each year during the February, Easter, summer and October school holidays, holiday programmes are run for all youngsters in the Stirling area.

A variety of multi-sports take place each day Monday to Friday from 8.30am-5pm for seven weeks, as well as the popular PEAK camps where children can be booked in for half or full days.

Activities included are athletics, badminton, dance, football, gymnastics, ice skating, outdoor kayaking, gorge walking, climbing, biking, bouncing and jumping beans, rugby, swimming and tennis.

Each week coaches fill these sessions with brand new fun and exciting games that both challenge and develop each child and keep them active.

Andrew Bain, chief executive of Active Stirling, said: "It’s great to see such a wide range of activities on offer for young people over the summer holiday period.

"The mixture of sport and physical activity is great and should help instil a passion for an active lifestyle of all who take part."

Ken Lewandowski, chair of Active Stirling's board, said: "At Active Stirling, we are passionate about ensuring young people can enjoy the benefits of an active lifestyle.

"The passion and skills of the coaches and volunteers is great to see and helps ensure the camps are fun and engaging for all who take part."
