THERE is a packed agenda for the Doune the Rabbit Hole Festival 2017.

Held near Stirling's Lake of Menteith, the laid-back, independent three-day festival has teamed up with Synergy Concerts to present an enviable line-up of international and homegrown live music and spoken word alongside thrill seeking water sports, family fun and food and drink.

Jamie Murray, artistic director of Doune the Rabbit Hole, said: "I'm so excited about all the things going on for Doune the Rabbit Hole in 2017, it's hard to know where to start.

"There's an incredible set of artists lined up – Songhoy Blues have already completely rocked Glastonbury and the 6 Music Festival, I can't wait for them to come up to Doune and get us all bouncing too.

"Aside from all the amazing bands we've managed to create a massive domed resonation chamber that our artists (and you) will be able to experiment in throughout the weekend as well as a whole ream of activities too, from wild swimming to axe-throwing competitions, to knitting and crocheting.

"There'll be some great local ale and cider at the bar from the likes of Williams Bros Brewery and Thistly Cross, not to mention the delicious food - from a venison burger to vegan haggis, neeps and tatties – you'll be well catered for at DTRH.”

Combining the best of Scotland’s independent/DIY scene alongside exclusive performances from the hippest new international acts, the festival attracts music lovers of all ages and from all walks of life.

With more international performers than ever this year, Doune also boasts activities including wild swimming, events for youngsters and the tastiest treats from Scotland’s best independent food and drink purveyors.

Now in its eighth year, running from Friday, August 18 to Sunday, August 20, highlights include the only Scottish performances from Songhoy Blues who come fresh from Glastonbury with their desert blues party starters, LA based punk band Ho99o9 and former Snooker world champion and highly respected DJ Steve Davis.

A host of adrenaline inducing activities make the most of the dramatic scenery while yoga and sauna facilities provide a more meditative experience with Scotland’s best independent food and drink suppliers.

The festival is dog-friendly and considered to be one of the UK’s most family-friendly festivals, there is a multitude of kids and family events and activities, with arts, crafts and workshops.

The family camping area is quietly sited away form the hurly burly of the late night events.
