Burn welcomed the visitors to a beautiful sun-drenched and rock hard pitch for this end of season league encounter.

In a largely tepid game, Burn won the opening sparing but couldn’t get quality balls into the box.

Some individual nice touches from Darren Walker and Stephen Knox but mainly huffing and puffing without clear chances.

The visitors came more into the game and on 45-minutes converted a penalty to open their account.

Burn started the second half with a Gary Currie super chance to equalise and somehow it hit the keeper.

Next the keeper had a great save from a Walker flashing header following a Michael Weir cross.

The referee was universally hailed as inconsistent incurred the wrath of Burn defender John McGregor.

There was only one outcome for McGregor who predictably was shown his second yellow and left the field.

Ten man Burn had more chances from Knox, McGown and Green all to no avail.

Nick McIntosh replaced Steven Knox on 70. Ross Cavanagh on for Allan Green on 80.

A St Pats corner was then converted by their centre forward making it 0-2.

Burn reflect on the things that were in their own gift during a game they ought to have won.

No game next week and no winner for the lucky numbers.

Thanks to Joey Farquharson and his team for the post-match hospitality.
