FIVE of Starlight Synchro's skating teams were competing over the course of 3 days at the Trohpy D'Ecosse Scottish Synchronised Skating Championships held in Dumfries.

Teams from all over the world took part across the various categories, including Norway, France, USA and world class Canadian team NEXXICE.

Starlight Skating Club, who train at The PEAK in Stirling, had their elementary team Starlight Blizzard who level placed sixth overall with a score of 15.72; Starlight Cyclone at preliminary level placing eleventh with a total score of 18.70; and Starlight Storm at mixed age level placing seventh with a new PB score of 23.80.

Starlight had two teams competing in the adult category – Starlight Mist were awarded 18.44 and placed eighth, whilst Starlight Rain achieved a new PB of 27.09 achieving second place, a silver medal in the Trophy D'Ecosse, as well as the title of Scottish Champions.

Rain also achieved a silver medal in the same category in January at the British Synchronised Skating Championships held in Nottingham's National Ice Centre.

Active Stirling’s skating co-ordinator, Rhiannon Morris, said: "This year we were proud to have four of our five teams competing.

"It's amazing to see how far our skaters have come since the first year they trained with us at The PEAK and how much the club has grown and developed in the last 7 years.

"The TDC always deliver a great atmosphere whether you are there to skate or just as a spectator and getting to see world class teams like NEXICCE perform is a huge draw to the event."
