THE first Forth Valley Pink Heritage Day is taking place tomorrow, Saturday February 18.
The event is being organised by charity Pink Saltire and will be held in Stirling as part of LGBT History Month.
It will take place at the Smith Art Gallery and Museum between 12noon and 4pm and will include the LGBT equalities charity as well as a number of other partner organisations from the region.
Showcasing and illustrating the individuals and groups that fought for people's rights, the afternoon will feature works from local and national artists.
There will also be a special screening of an original short film produced by the charity last year as part of the range of exhibitions and talks on the day.
Richard McArthur, a trustee for Pink Saltire and organiser of the event, said: “I’m delighted to be partnering with other groups in the Forth Valley area to produce an exciting arts and cultural day as part of LGBT History Month.
“This is an excellent opportunity for people to learn about the individuals and organisations who fought for the rights that we have today. I hope the event attracts lots of local support as we have a healthy and diverse LGBT community here in the Forth Valley area.”
The event will be opened by Stirling Provost Mike Robbins.
