A MAN who was caught with a taser gun will have to wait until next week to find out if he's getting locked up.
On Thursday at Alloa Sheriff Court, Richard Strachan was due to be sentenced for having the prohibited weapon in his possession without lawful authority between November 13 and December 10, 2015, both dates inclusive at Broad Street, Stirling, The Orchard in Tullibody and elsewhere.
The 41-year-old was also to be punished for having cannabis resin in his possession at his home address in The Orchard, Tullibody, on December 10, 2015.
As Sheriff David Mackie had previously ordered a Criminal Justice Social Work report, Sheriff Christopher Shead deferred sentence further until February 23 so as his colleague could deal with the case.
Sheriff Shead highlighted that a charge of this offence would normally carry a substantial custodial sentence, however Sheriff Mackie may have another punishment in mind.
