THIS weekend's walk of Stirling Rambling Club will be taking members towards Witches Craig.

The grade C+ walk will start in Bridge of Allan and take people up the Mine Wood, the Cocksburn Reservoir before the final destination over seven-and-a-half miles in four-and-a-half hours.

The highest point will be around 200m above sea level and the woodland and open moorland will provide classic views of the surrounding countryside.

A leisurely ascent will take people through the wood first before the trail levels out towards the reservoir and the rocky outcrop of Witches Craig, overlooking the Wallace Monument.

This will be followed by a descent to the historic Logie Kirk before ramblers will return to the town through the Hermitage Wood.

Walking poles are recommended as some paths are very likely to be muddy.

Those heading along are asked to meet at the car park on Fountain Road in Bridge of Allan at 10am, map reference is NS 792 973.

Leading the walk will be Karlyn Dickson, call her on 01324 570 282 or email karlyn.c.b.dickson@sky.com
