TWO Stirling services are hosting coffee morning to raise cash for Macmillan later this month.

As part of the annual coffee morning fundraiser initiative, Streets Ahead is hosting its annual event on Thursday September 29 with Riverbank Resource Centre following suit the day after.

Streets Ahead provides support for adults who have a learning disability by helping them access social, educational and recreational activities in their local communities.

It will be holding the coffee morning between 10.30am and 12noon in Bridge of Allan Parish Church.

Riverbank is an operational hub, providing day support facilities for adults with learning disabilities.

The team will be holding its coffee morning on Friday September 30 from 10am to 11.30am with an entry fee of £1.50.

Pamela Carruthers, day services officer at Streets Ahead, said: “The service users at Streets Ahead are delighted every year to donate the proceeds of their regular weekly coffee morning to Macmillan Cancer Support and take part in such a big charity event.”

George MacMillan, assistant manager at Riverbank, said: “Once again we are proud to be playing our part in the ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ and invite you to come and join us at Riverbank and together we can raise as much money as possible for this very worthwhile cause.”

Social Care and Health convener Councillor Christine Simpson added: “I am delighted that service users and staff at Riverbank are participating fully in raising funds for this very worthwhile cause which touches the lives of so many families in our community.”
