Topping off another fantastic year, service users, family and the staff of Blanefield House care home took time to reflect on the positive year they have had as they celebrated their second anniversary since takeover of experienced care home owners Miss Arti & Puja Poddar.

Service users and guests were treated to a buffet, drinks and home baked cakes as well as live entertainment throughout the day.

Blanefield House have now been awarded with very good care inspection grades and are undergoing a full home refurbishment programme including 40 new ensuite bedrooms and dementia lounge & garden.

Care home manager Karen Armstrong celebrated with the team, families and service users on the day awarding staff service awards and vouchers to those who have worked with Blanefield Care Home five and 10 years plus.

Mr David Mitchell, a family member, said: “It doesn't seem like two years since the 'girls' took over the management of Blanefield Care Home. With the support of all the staff they have made it a loving home for all. God bless them all. Love to all of them.”

The home strives to develop further community links and welcome visits for afternoon tea and anyone within the local elderly community wishing to join for in house activities or meals.

Miss Poddar, director of Blanefield Care Ltd said: “We are so pleased with the positive feedback from families and service users since our takeover at Blanefield House.

“The support of the staff team has been phenomenal in delivering innovative and excellent care for our service users. We are very much looking forward to developing the homes environment and providing more person centred services to meet all care needs for the elderly community and soon achieve to be the best home in Scotland.”
