Fraser Hart’s James Bond celebration at its luxury jewellery store in Stirling’s Thistles Centre was as action-packed as the famous spy’s latest outing in Spectre.

The sleek lines of an Aston Martin DB8 Vantage parked outside the doors to the fine jewellers certainly drew the crowds over the four days from Friday to Monday to coincide with the movie’s launch week.

Manager Brian Nelson, suitably attired in a tuxedo, said 100 extra people a day went into Fraser Hart and a few die-hard Bond aficionados left with limited edition Omega Seamaster 300 watches, which actor Daniel Craig wears in the film, or the commemorative limited edition Bond Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra. They retail at over £4,500 each.

Customers were also able to enjoy a vodka martini and browse through Bond film memorabilia, lent by Scotland’s largest Bond collector Colin Anderson from his Bo’ness Motor Museum.

Items included the golden gun from The Man with the Golden Gun; Odd Job’s hat from Goldfinger; Rosa Klebb’s razor shoes from Russia with Love; the dart gun wristwatch from Moonraker; and a copy of the Faberge egg from Octopussy.

Mr Nelson said: “It was fantastic, absolutely fantastic. The response has been great and the feedback from the centre has been brilliant. It’s brought people into Fraser Hart and they have got to know the staff.

“Customers commented on hearing the Bond theme music as soon as they walked into the centre, then saw the car and then enjoyed the memorabilia and watches in our store.”

A spokesman for Thistles Centre said: “We were delighted to have Fraser Hart host its celebration of all things “Bond – James Bond” in The Thistles as part of the company’s high profile limited edition Spectre timepiece collection launch.

“The promotion was a huge success with the Aston Martin proving a major additional attraction, as well as the opportunities to win the 007-themed experience.”

The draw has not yet been made to find that lucky person who has won the £300 prize of their own Bond-style helicopter ride over Edinburgh and Forth bridges and then lapping the Ingliston track behind the wheel of an Aston Martin.
