ASHBRIDGE A man has denied a charge of attempting to headbutt a police officer.

On Monday (2 June) at Alloa Sheriff Court, Alfred Ashbridge pleaded not guilty to allegedly behaving in a threatening manner by shouting and swearing in his home street on 8 March.

When picked up by police, Ashbridge allegedly attempted to headbutt a constable while on the A907 near Blackgrange and resisted arrest by tensing his arms, kicking out his legs and struggling in an attempt to break free.

The 47-year-old is also accused of kicking the rear, nearside window of the cop car when arriving at Stirling police station.

Ashbridge, of Sauchie’s Rosebank, will stand trial on 26 November.

CHALMERS A young lad has denied allegedly kicking off in a cop car.

On Monday (2 June) at Alloa Sheriff Court, Craig Chalmers (21) maintained a plea of not guilty to charges of behaving in an aggressive manner by allegedly shouting, swearing and uttering threats of violence whilst in a police vehicle enroute to Stirling station from Alloa’s Leven Court on 24 August 2013.

Chalmers, of Alloa’s Bowhouse Gardens, will stand trial on 25 November.

The 21-year-old also denied failing to appear at court without reasonable excuse when requested to do so on 15 January. He will stand trial for this charge on 17 June.

BURNS A man has denied shouting, swearing and uttering threats of violence.

On Monday (2 June) at Alloa Sheriff Court, John Burns (34) maintained a plea of not guilty to allegedly behaving in a menacing manner at an address in the town’s Hutton Park on 3 September.

Burns, of Sauchie’s Mansfield Avenue, will stand trial on 18 June.

CLARK A young man has denied allegedly punching a policewoman.

On Monday (2 June) at Alloa Sheriff Court, Jamie Clark (23) maintained a plea of not guilty to charges of conducting himself in a disorderly manner by shouting, swearing, committing a breach of the peace and hitting a female constable on the head in Tullibody’s Stirling Road on 1 December 2012.

Clark is also accused of allegedly behaving in an aggressive manner enroute to Stirling police station by shouting, swearing and issuing threats of violence.

Clark, of Tullibody’s Woodside Road, will stand trial on 17 June.

DOUGLAS A young lad has denied a charge of punching another man on the head.

On Monday (2 June) at Alloa Sheriff Court, Thomas Douglas (24) maintained a plea of not guilty to allegedly behaving in a threatening manner at an address in the town’s East Castle Street on 16 August 2013.

Douglas denies shouting, swearing, uttering threats of violence and striking a man on the head.

Douglas, of Tullibody’s Northwood Road, will stand trial on 10 June.

MACKOWSKI A man has denied allegedly throttling a woman.

On Monday (2 June) at Alloa Sheriff Court, Tomasz Mackowski (39) maintained a plea of not guilty to a charge of acting in an aggressive manner at his home address on 17 December 2013.

Mackowski is accused of shouting, swearing and uttering threats of violence towards a woman. He is also alleged to have pushed her on the body onto a couch, whereby he kneeled on her body and put his hands round her neck and compressed to her injury.

Mackowski, of Alloa’s Hillview Terrace, is due to stand trial today (4 June).

MACPHERSON A driver has denied a charge of knocking a cyclist over.

On Monday (2 June) at Alloa Sheriff Court, Mitchell MacPherson (26) maintained a plea of not guilty to allegedly driving a car dangerously, causing it to swerve and knock a biker to the ground in Tillicoultry’s High Street on 9 April 2013.

MacPherson, of Tilly’s Upper Mill Street, will stand trial on 10 June.

MCDONALD Police were sent to track down a man accused of acting in an aggressive manner.

On Monday (2 June) at Alloa Sheriff Court, a non-appearance warrant was granted for David McDonald (37), of Alloa’s Orkney Court, who failed to show up for his intermediate diet date.

McDonald previously pleaded not guilty to shouting and swearing at members of the public and allegedly failing to desist when requested to do so by police officers in his home street on 8 January 2014.

McDonald was due to stand trial yesterday (3 June).

HARKNESS A Glenochil prisoner threw a table at a psychiatric nurse after “hearing voices”.

On Monday (2 June) at Alloa Sheriff Court, Ian Harkness (53) pleaded guilty to the assault – which happened at the prison on 14 March 2014.

Fiscal depute Ann Orr told the court that concerns were raised about Harkness’ mental health a day before the incident.

On the day of the assault the accused refused to leave his cell in fear of other inmates.

He eventually agreed to enter an interview room to speak to a nurse, during which he roared with anger, took hold of a table by its legs and threw it at the female staff member – landing on her foot.

Officers, who were stationed outside, burst in and restrained the accused.

Harkness reportedly said, “I was hearing voices and I was trying to get help.” Harkness’ defence counsel claimed that the 53-year-old, who has been behind bars since 2001, was removed from his work and educational classes, lost 95 days of recreational activities and is still on supervision for the outburst.

Sheriff Wyllie Robertson took Harkness’ letter of apology to the nursing staff into account and admonished him for the attack.

COLQUHOUN A woman has denied fiddling the system for over two years.

On Monday (2 June) at Alloa Sheriff Court, Sonya Colquhoun (46) maintained a plea of not guilty to allegedly failing to give prompt notification to Clackmannanshire Council of a change in circumstances that affected her entitlement to housing and Council Tax benefits.

It is alleged that between 28 June 2010 and 26 August 2012 at her home address, Colquhoun was living with and being maintained by a man and thereby received £6833.67 worth of benefits of which she was not entitled.

Colquhoun, of Sauchie’s Schawpark Avenue, was due to stand trial yesterday (Tuesday 3 June).

FOXTON A man has denied showing up to Alloa Sheriff Court with an offensive weapon.

On Monday (2 June) Thomas Foxton (26) pled not guilty to allegedly being in possession of a kubotan without reasonable excuse or lawful authority on 14 April 2014.

Foxton also denied allegedly punching a young girl on the body at an address in Clackmannan’s Zetland Street at some point between 20 July 2011 and 19 July 2012.

Foxton, of Alloa’s Engelen Drive, will stand trial on 2 December.

FRASER A man has denied sexually assaulting two women.

On Monday (2 June) at Alloa Sheriff Court, George Fraser (58) maintained a plea of not guilty to allegedly seizing a woman’s breasts and kissing her on the head, and allegedly seizing another woman by the body, kissing her head and repeatedly seizing her breasts at an address in the town’s Lambert Terrace on 16 September 2013.

Fraser, of Banchory Place in Tullibody, will stand trial on 10 June.

FURBY A man has denied supplying amphetamine.

As reported in the Advertiser previously, Derek Furby (36) was given two weeks to get himself to Alloa Sheriff Court after failing to show up to his intermediate diet date.

On Monday (2 June) the 36-year-old maintained a plea of not guilty to allegedly being concerned in the alleged supply of the Class B drug from his home address on 15 November 2013.

Furby, of the town’s Tay Court, will stand trial on 10 June.

PARKER A man has denied being in possession of drugs and an imitation gun.

On Monday (2 June) at Alloa Sheriff Court, Matthew Parker (57) maintained a plea of not guilty to allegedly having diazepam, amphetamine and an imitation glock handgun at his home address on 8 November 2013.

Parker, of St Serf’s Road in Tullibody, will stand trial on 17 June.

SKINNER A man has denied stalking a woman.

On Monday (2 June) at Alloa Sheriff Court, Alexander Skinner (30) maintained a plea of not guilty to allegedly sending threatening messages via text, Facebook and Viper, making unwanted phone calls, turning up at the woman’s house and following her in his car around various locations in Clackmannanshire between 8 and 27 February 2014.

Skinner will stand trial on 18 June.

HALL An Alloa man has denied firing an air gun at a woman and shooting and killing a bird.

On Monday (2 June) at the town’s Sheriff Court, Johnny Hall (49) maintained a plea of not guilty to allegedly discharging the weapon recklessly by allegedly shooting a pellet on his home street within the close vicinity of a female nearby on 24 April 2013.

Hall is also charged with intentionally killing a crow on the same date by repeatedly shooting it.

Hall, of Ashley Terrace, will stand trial on 11 June.

LEWCIO Police were sent to track down a man accused of being in possession of methadone.

On Monday (2 June) at Alloa Sheriff Court, a non-appearance warrant was granted for Joseph Lewcio (39) who failed to appear to his intermediate diet date.

Lewcio previously denied the charge of having the Class A drug at an address in the town’s Hillcrest Avenue on 3 September 2013.

The 39-year-old also pleaded not guilty to behaving in a threatening manner by allegedly shouting, swearing, striking doors, demanding money and uttering homophobic remarks on his way to Stirling police station on the same day.

Lewcio, of Scott Crescent in Alloa, is due to stand trial on 10 June.

DOUGLAS A teen who shares the same name as a Hollywood superstar has denied brandishing two blades in an aggressive manner.

On Monday (2 June) at Alloa Sheriff Court, Michael Douglas (18) maintained a plea of not guilty to allegedly presenting the knives to a man and woman at an address in the town’s Lewis Court on 27 November 2013.

Douglas, also of Lewis Court, will stand trial on 10 June.

SNADDON A young man has denied brandishing a bottle in a threatening manner.

On Monday (2 June) at Alloa Sheriff Court, Mark Snaddon (23) maintained a plea of not guilty to allegedly shouting, swearing and wielding the glass weapon in the town’s Hutton Park on 6 September 2013.

Snaddon, of Alloa’s Argyll Street, will stand trial on 18 June.
