Alloa Spiritualist: The medium on Sunday was Martin Gilbert from Grangemouth. His talk was about how the planet would not survive without water. Five messages were given. St John’s Episcopal Church, Broad Street: The service on Sunday is at 11am and includes Young Church. On Wednesday there is a short reflection at 12.30pm followed by a soup and sandwich lunch. The charity lunch at the end of May raised £154 for Healing Rooms. St Mungo’s Parish Church of Scotland: The Sunday School finished for the session last Sunday and entertained the congregation with songs which they had been learning during the year. Menstrie Parish Church: Rev. L Mack conducted the celebration of the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper and Bible readings were from Psalm 24 and Luke 24: 44-53. Many people don’t like change but we can see the effect of the change in the disciples when they saw Jesus after the resurrection. Everything changes except God. The Kirk Session will have a short meeting after morning worship this Sunday 8 June to verify the Roll and those applying to be adherents. The next Congregational Board meeting is on Monday 23 June at 7pm followed by a session meeting. Deadline for material for 2014/15 calendar and directory is 13 July. The church is holding their annual plant sale this Saturday from 10am till noon. A selection of plants suitable for bedding, hanging baskets, perennials and vegetables will be available. Menstrie Parish Church: Rev. L Mack conducted the celebration of the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper and Bible readings were from Psalm 24 and Luke 24: 44-53. Many people don’t like change but we can see the effect of the change in the disciples when they saw Jesus after the resurrection. Everything changes except God. The Kirk Session will have a short meeting after morning worship this Sunday 8 June to verify the Roll and those applying to be adherents. The next Congregational Board meeting is on Monday 23 June at 7pm followed by a session meeting. Deadline for material for 2014/15 calendar and directory is 13 July. The church is holding their annual plant sale this Saturday from 10am till noon. A selection of plants suitable for bedding, hanging baskets, perennials and vegetables will be available. A team from Corntonvale have been busy getting these ready so please go along and support all the hard work. Donations from the congregation can be brought to the hall on Friday evening between 6pm and 7.30pm.
