Alloa Spiritualist: The medium on Sunday was Martin Gilbert from Grangemouth. His talk was about how the planet would not survive without water. Five messages were given. There was a cup of tea and a biscuit. This week’s medium will be David Lamont from Stirling. The meeting will be held in Hawkhill Community Centre at 6.30pm.

St John’s Episcopal Church, Broad Street: The service on Sunday is at 11am and includes Young Church. On Wednesday there is a short reflection at 12.30pm followed by a soup and sandwich lunch. A short Communion Service follows at 1.45pm. Everyone is welcome at all services. The church office is open on Wednesday and Friday from 10am to noon. The charity lunch at the end of May raised £154 for Healing Rooms. St Mungo’s Parish Church of Scotland: The Sunday School finished for the session last Sunday and entertained the congregation with songs which they had been learning during the year. The prizes were then presented by Rev. Cha. The second part of The God Question is today (Wednesday) 4 June at 7.30pm in the Session House. After the service this Sunday 8 June there will be a fire drill. At 2pm the sponsored walk starts from The Arns cricket ground at 2pm. Remember your picnic. Moncrieff Church Boys’ Brigade Company: All sections of the Company have now finished their winter session’s activities and will resume in September. Menstrie Parish Church: Rev. L Mack conducted the celebration of the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper and Bible readings were from Psalm 24 and Luke 24: 44-53. Many people don’t like change but we can see the effect of the change in the disciples when they saw Jesus after the resurrection. Everything changes except God. The Kirk Session will have a short meeting after morning worship this Sunday 8 June to verify the Roll and those applying to be adherents. The next Congregational Board meeting is on Monday 23 June at 7pm followed by a session meeting. Deadline for material for 2014/15 calendar and directory is 13 July. The church is holding their annual plant sale this Saturday from 10am till noon. A selection of plants suitable for bedding, hanging baskets, perennials and vegetables will be available. A team from Corntonvale have been busy getting these ready so please go along and support all the hard work. Donations from the congregation can be brought to the hall on Friday evening between 6pm and 7.30pm.

Menstrie Parish Church Guild: The annual Guild Rally is being held in Viewfield Church Stirling this Thursday 5 June at 7.30pm. It is hoped some members will be able to attend.

Menstrie Fete and Gala Week: The fete week starts on Saturday 7 June with a car treasure hunt. On Sunday 8 will be “Music in the Gardens”. During the week there are various events for adults and children. The village Gala Day is on Saturday 14 June.

The parade will leave the church grounds at 10.40am. There will be a Family Fun Day on Saturday 21 June from 11am till 2 pm. Tickets £2 for adults, children free. Sauchie & Fishcross UF Church: The General Assembly of the United Free Church of Scotland meets from Wednesday 4 June until Friday 6 June in the Salutation Hotel, Perth. Menstrie Parish Church: Rev. L Mack conducted the celebration of the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper and Bible readings were from Psalm 24 and Luke 24: 44-53. Many people don’t like change but we can see the effect of the change in the disciples when they saw Jesus after the resurrection. Everything changes except God. The Kirk Session will have a short meeting after morning worship this Sunday 8 June to verify the Roll and those applying to be adherents. The next Congregational Board meeting is on Monday 23 June at 7pm followed by a session meeting. Deadline for material for 2014/15 calendar and directory is 13 July. The church is holding their annual plant sale this Saturday from 10am till noon. A selection of plants suitable for bedding, hanging baskets, perennials and vegetables will be available. A team from Corntonvale have been busy getting these ready so please go along and support all the hard work.
